Summer Conditioning Camp Open

Jun. 29, 2020

I am pleased to announce that the Millwoods Grizzlies have officially decided to participate in the Stage II, return to play announcement made by Football Alberta. We have aligned with the CDMFA, Football Alberta, and Alberta Health on following the safe guidelines expected by our governing bodies.

So, what will our season look like? Right now, we are beginning with a conditioning camp governed by the CDMFA to keep our Covid risk as low as possible. This does mean no equipment, and no games. With the max number allowed in a cohort at 50, this also means No Spectators. We have introduced 2 Grizzly co-horts. Atom and Peewee will practice together, and Bantam and Midget will practice together. There is a limit on registrations to keep this mandated number in check. $60.00 all in, and this includes a t-shirt.

Parental Knowledge:

  • No spectators
  • Frequent hand sanitizing for players, staff, and coaches
  • No shared water bottles (parents make sure your player brings a labelled water bottle. These will be kept 2m apart)
  • No equipment
  • All coaches and staff will wear PPE at all times
  • A responsible person has been assigned to your players team to manage the new guidelines.

For this camp, the name "Manager" applies to the Covid Responsible person. They are responsible for health screening, checking in all players, and ensuring all forms are filled out. The Informed consent form is required for all players before they step on the field. This form only needs to be filled out once. Bring this to the first practice. We will have them on hand if needed.

Health screening will be completed upon arrival of every practice. If any player is found with symptoms they will be asked to leave.

All staff will wear PPE (Masks and gloves) This will be provided and is to be worn at all times. No exceptions. Once practice has started the "manager/responsible person is to ensure all staff and coaches are wearing PPE at all times, and reminding players to social distance whenever possible, and sanitize hands, footballs, and bags often.

  • July 6th to July 30th (this camp could be extended depending on what the governing bodies and Alberta Health dictates)
  • Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm
  • Space is limited

Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate this together. If there are any questions on this please feel free to e-mail the President at:
